The Reason

As I sit here, I am blown away that it is December already. Where has 2015 gone? As we are closing out the year, our Wichita Life Church family is starting a new adventure. For the last 16 months Life Church Wichita has been meeting at a local middle school building. Each week volunteers would transform the school classrooms into welcoming havens for the children to meet the Lord, while the school auditorium became the worship setting that ushered each of us to the throne room of God. This Sunday is our last day of gathering at the school, we are moving into a new building – our new house - next week. It is an exciting time! 

The saying during this time of year is: Jesus is the Reason for the Season.  But truthfully: Jesus! Is! The Reason! Period! No matter what the season, He is the Reason. It doesn’t have to be the time of year that we set aside to celebrate and remember Jesus’ birth, He is always the Reason. He is the reason that the sun raises each morning and sets each night. He is the Reason that we can even fill our lungs with oxygen. John 1:3 tells us, “Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made.”  

And, Jesus is the Reason for the new building – the new home. This home is a blessing from Him. But this building does not contain Him. Actually, nothing can contain Him. God, the Infinite, has chosen to tabernacle inside believers - His children. God can do whatever He wants, with whatever He wants but the building is just a building, until His children - we - are in it. We are the temple of God. We are the home He has chosen to dwell in. What an amazing miracle! The Perfect dwelling in and being displayed through the most imperfect. 

Let's pray what Isaiah wrote about in Isaiah 6:1 "I saw the Lord sitting on a high and lofty throne. The bottom of His robe filled the temple." Oh, Lord, I pray, fill each of us - Your children - as full of Your Spirit and presence as possible this side of glory. May Your Spirit be so alive and active in and through each of us that You alone are noticed and honored. So that there is no doubt that there is a God and that You alone are that God! Oh, thank You Lord!!!

 HE is the only Reason for any and all seasons!!
