Shame Part 1

Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

Sunday, our pastor spoke on shame and it has been circling through my thoughts since then.

Shame is not: conviction that we did something wrong or bad.

Shame is: believing that we ARE wrong or bad.

Shame is a heavy weight to carry.

Shame causes us to hide from people and from God. Shame causes us NOT to live out all that God created and called us to be and to do. Living under the weight of shame is a huge win for the enemy.

Living under the weight of shame is a choice – a choice we make for ourselves. No one else makes the choice for us or causes us to the make choice. We each have the choice to live under shame or to live in the freedom that Christ paid for. We can choose to believe the lies of the enemy or we can choose to believe the truth of God.

Choose to walk out from under the weight of shame, in victory and freedom.
