Romans
8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
The choice to not live under shame is an easy choice
to make, but perhaps not so easy to live out. It can be a battle to replace the
lies based on fact, when they come at you. Even as I have been praying about
God’s desire to free His children from the prison of shame, shame enveloped
me. Trying to make me forget who I am in Christ; who God created me to be.
As I was walking this morning, taking some time away
from the noise, listening to some praise music. God reminded
me who He is and who I am during that walk. In the Chris Tomlin song “Good Good Father” the
chorus says: “You're
a good good father It's who you are, it's who you are, it's who you are And I'm
loved by you It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am.
No matter
what the past holds, God loves you and nothing can separate you from the God’s
love.
Romans
8:38-39 “For I am convinced that neither death
nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any
powers, neither height nor depth, nor
anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God
that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
So when shame tries to imprison you,
remember that God loves you and that is who you are.
You
are loved by the King of kings and the Lord of lords – that’s who you are!
